3D Game-like Portfolio
A game-like journey into the designer’s world and identity.
[WEB DESIGN]
[DEVELOPMENT]
[SPATIAL EXPERIENCE]
The portfolio unfolds as a first-person, game-like experience — inviting visitors to explore rather than scroll. Designed to evoke a sense of wonder, it transforms the designer’s world into an interactive space where discovery happens through movement and curiosity.
Across four themed areas inspired by an atelier, it reveals both the designer’s background and his creative identity. Instead of instructing how to read his work, it gives visitors the freedom to interpret and experience his creative self in their own way.
Challenge
Traditional portfolios rely on text, images, and videos to showcase skills — but they often fail to express the multidimensional nature of a designer’s craft. In this case, the challenge was to represent a designer whose work spans product design, spatial design, web design, 3D modeling, animation, and web development. Conventional 2D visuals couldn’t capture that range. The question became: how can a website encapsulate such diversity in a single, cohesive experience?
Approach
To represent that diversity, the portfolio embraces it — drawing inspiration from game design. A 3D, first-person perspective allows visitors to explore freely, creating a “sense of wonder” through movement and discovery. By giving control to the user, the site transforms exploration into understanding, inviting people to experience the designer’s world and form their own interpretation of his creative identity.
Outcome
In a 3D first-person experience, space and atmosphere define emotional engagement. Each of the four themed areas is crafted to express a different facet of the designer’s identity. Elements such as form, lighting, and spatial density work together to shape distinct moods — letting visitors not only observe, but feel the designer’s world.

FOUR AREAS
Each of the four areas was crafted with a distinct atmosphere. The “Work” area’s dense layout and close spacing create a cozy, focused environment. The “Virtual” area feels open and mysterious — defined by fog, grids, and spotlighted objects that dissolve the sense of boundaries. The “Museum” area evokes calm and elegance through spacious composition, soft lighting, and slow kinetic wall movement. The “Garden” area turns surreal — with floating colors, oversized forms, and dreamlike light that blend realism and imagination.

A SENSE OF ACHIEVEMENT
To nurture curiosity, information is revealed gradually as visitors explore. Objects disclose details only when approached closely, giving users a sense of achievement with each discovery — mirroring the satisfaction of uncovering secrets in a game.

OPTIMIZATION AND INTEGRATION
To ensure a seamless experience, all 3D assets were optimized for performance. Models were simplified in Blender, materials baked into single textures, and heavy effects avoided. This workflow preserves visual sharpness while keeping the site smooth and responsive in real time.

3D PHYSICS ENGINE
Rapier physics powers the interaction layer — defining walkable paths, collision zones, and pop-up triggers. Each collision object was carefully tuned and tested to ensure natural movement and intuitive navigation throughout the 3D world.
